If you're looking for a charming, feel-good romance and quintessential beach read, Cooper's Charm is a definite winner. You get two romances for the price of one here; with both Rose sisters finding their individual roads to a HEA. Phoenix Rose has come to Cooper's Charm a shell of a woman she once was. After an armed robbery and assault leaves her a shattered, she comes to this charming little lakeside resort to find herself again. The last thing she expects is to find herself falling for the resort's broody owner. Cooper is reeling from a loss of his own. But the more he gets to know Phoenix, the more he realizes that he didn't lose his heart. Following her sister to make sure she's ok, Ridley is dealing with issues of her own. After a bitter divorce leaves her cynical but filthy rich, she's not looking to find a meaningful relationship, but she's not opposed to some hot sex. Little does she know that she'll find something much more with the local sexy Scuba Instructor. The two relationships develop in interchanging POVs; you get Phoenix, Cooper, Ridley, and Baxter. There's also a small suspense subplot that's added in. This was a sweet contemporary romance that could have held quite strongly on its own. I really didn't feel the suspense piece add much to the story, at least not for me. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the book, because I definitely did. It was a cute and steamy read that delivered on two highly satisfying HEAs. If you're looking for a light-hearted and sweet romance that's low on angst but with plenty of charm, you can't go wrong with this one. Sometimes I read a book and it is easier for me to list all the things I love about the book rather than write a detailed review and that is what I’m going to do with this book. I loved that both the main characters had lived through something difficult and it made them wary, yet they were both open to exploring the intense attraction between them. I loved the quirky secondary characters that added a lot of life and fun to this story. I loved the setting of a summer retreat campground and cabins around a lake where people flocked to enjoy a peaceful vacation. I loved the adult relationship between the main characters, they communicated well and despite they both had some baggage they didn’t drag a lot of drama into their relationship. The one thing I didn’t love about this book was the suspense element that seemed contrived and didn’t really add to the book, just some unnecessary drama this book didn’t need. The heroine Phoenix Rose was smart, strong, and determined to reclaim her life and independence and I enjoyed watching her make friends and blossom while working as the landscaper and groundskeeper at Coopers Charm. Copper Cochran the resort owner was one of those perfect heroes who knew when to back off and when to push and I admired that he gave Phoenix a place to get back in the work force while also keeping a very close eye on her for his peace of mind and her safety. The sexual tension between them was thick and watching them try and deny it was amusing. Coopers Charm is a spectacular offering from author Lori Foster and is sure to be a hit with readers wanting something light, sexy, and fun this summer.

Every character was on the lookout and planning how to use another character to get what they wanted. Not in an evil way, but in an "I want what I want" way. We get two romances and I liked that aspect. The characters were all beautiful and wonderful people and they get their HEA, of course. You get a touch of mystery thrown in too, which I really liked. After six months of, basically, hiding out, she is on a mission to reclaim life as she once knew it. Cooper Cochran owns a lakeside resort, Cooper's Charm. His wife died five years ago and he has been struggling to put his life and emotions back together ever since. When he meets Phoenix, he knows his life is about to change. While visiting Cooper’s Charm to see her little sister, Ridley Rose decides she likes what she sees, a beautiful resort and a super hot diving instructor, Baxter, and decides to stay. When her ex-husband dumped her, she left with several of his millions and a broken heart. She is all about keeping her heart safe, until she crosses paths with Baxter. Phoenix and Ridley both came to Cooper’s Charm as a means to an end, but they both have found that the their journey just might end there.

Cooper's Charm is a quaint family oriented campground offers all the amenities including a sweet loft cabin to call home.  Phoenix and Cooper's first encounter was interesting and gave the reader insight into both characters. I quickly found myself pulled into the story. I liked Phoenix and connected with her. Readers will respect her strength, identify with her insecurities and fall for Cooper right along with her. Cooper, is the owner of Cooper's Charm, with a home on the lake overlooking the campground. Cooper bought the place after a tragedy changed his life, so he recognizes what Phoenix is going through. She hasn't told him, but he knows about her past, thanks to Google. Phoenix stirs something in him and the chemistry between them is sweet, entertaining and delightful to witness. Foster's characters are well-developed and realistic. We get to meet lots of secondary characters at the resort and I am already itching for their stories. We are even treated to a secondary romance. Phoenix's older sister, Ridley Rose, shows up unexpectedly to check on her sister. When there is a housekeeping problem, Ridley steps in and decides this might be the perfect place to lick her wounds after a painful divorce. I loved the heated, magnetic, snarky romance that developed for Ridley. While Cooper and Phoenix's romance is sweet, slow-burning, and soothing, Ridley's is scorching. The banter was hilarious. Something is simmering between the maintenance guy and the store manager too, I cannot wait for their book. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

As a double bonus, we also get Phoenix’s sister’s romance. Riley is coming out of a failed marriage while Baxter, the resorts’ scuba dive instructor, is kind of a ladies man. I got a kick out of Riley’s sarcastic, sassy mouth and loved Baxter’s charismatic personality. The playful edge to their sexually charged banter was absolutely delightful, but the chemistry...think sizzling and electrifying! The secondary characters are just as much fun! Cooper has collected a hodgepodge of employees who act like one big, crazy extended family. And who wouldn’t love that?! Their nosiness could be bothersome..and have the world’s worst timing when a certain someone was romancing his girl...however, to know there’s always someone there to help lend a hand or a shoulder for support said a lot about the group. And I have to mention Sugar, Cooper and Phoenix’s unexpected furry bundle of chaotic fun! Dogs can say so much with their expressions and the descriptions of Sugar’s soulful brown eyes and head tilts conveyed a lot. Plus, she was just a super cute character! Protective heroes, feisty heroines, one adorable puppy rescue, and a madcap group of charming secondary characters made Cooper’s Charm a delightfully warm-hearted read! Mild suspense and two great romances round things out in style. I have my fingers crossed in hope that there will be a few more stories to come from Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating 4.5 stars. I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress story. Lori Foster’s Cooper’s Charm is exactly that but with a modern, capable damsel. Phoenix Rose is the aptest of names for a woman trying to rebuild her life after a devastating robbery during which she was beaten badly. She welcomes a new job taking care of the landscaping at Cooper’s Charm. Cooper has a surprisingly similar reason for buying a resort which takes him far from his former life and the memories of the wife he lost too soon Rating 4.5 stars. Are they ready? Capable even? I enjoyed watching these two getting to know each other and grow out of their trauma-induced shells. They’re both great people and deserve more than their self-imposed isolation. I found Phoenix’s sister, Ridley, fun and feisty. She’s probably the richest maid ever but she’s enjoying spending time with her sister and the other employees. Her purely sexual relationship with the scuba instructor, Baxter, turns into so much more, of course. As if they haven’t had enough of the worst life can hand them, Phoenix’s past soon comes to haunt her and, by extension, her new family at Cooper’s Charm. She finds she didn’t know the whole story of her beating/robbery. When her ex comes to make peace, she’s finally able to let go of the guilt she felt over removing herself from their relationship. There’s more to that part of the story than meets the eye too! Foster gives us lots of scary and suspenseful moments and two touching and tender love stories in this well written expertly paced and complex book. I’ve been a Foster fan for a long time and this is just one more book with all the exceptional qualities that make her a best-seller.

When Phoenix’s sister comes to visit she ends up extending her stay while she recovers from a horrible divorce. What neither of them realize is that Cooper’s Charm is full of wonderful people – from Cooper (owner) to Baxter (scuba instructor) to Daron (the flirty and downright hysterical “knucklehead” of the group). All of them would do anything to protect their family – and that is what Phoenix and Ridley have become. There is great banter between the sisters and an easy flow with all the interactions of the characters – Cooper’s Charm was a fun read and I can’t wait to see what comes next for the group. It was a slow and super sweet. They were well matched and just what the other needed to move on. I loved Phoenix. She was a character I was rooting for to find her way back to her old self. They were my favorite of the two couples. I did like Ridley and Baxter together. However, I felt like they were a bit hot and cold for most of the story, so their love declarations were a bit unexpected for me. Aside from the romances, Phoenix and Ridley's sisterly bond was a joy to experience. They had a fierce loyalty to one another. They also had really fun banter that made me laugh. The other characters in the story gave the resort a feeling of home. It sounds like a place I would want to visit. The story also includes a little mystery to satisfy those suspense lovers out there. I highly recommend this one! It comes out next week. It will make a great book to read over the summer. I can't wait to see whose story is next. Maris maybe?

Cooper's Charm is the first book from the Love at the Resort series. It is, also, my first introduction to Lori Foster's work. I loved the main characters of Phoenix and Cooper. Phoenix sets off and finds a camp ground where she applies to be the main groundskeeper and Cooper, the man who wins and operates the park, is happy to oblige. He knows what’s happened in Phoenix’s past and knows that he needs to take any kind of relationship with her slowly. Ridley is worried about her sister and makes the trip to the park to see how she is doing. Despite being there for her sister, Ridley discovers that not only can she help Phoenix but she might even find a way to move on with her own life. I felt like this book started a little slower than other books I’ve read from Foster. I think there was a lot of backstory to set up and this added to the feeling of the slow moving plot. But once everything was fleshed out, the plot started getting more interesting and the pages started flying by. I have to say, I really enjoyed Ridley’s character much more than Phoenix and felt more invested in what was happening to her. As soon as she got out of her car and entered the park grounds I felt like everything became a little more interesting. Her character was very charismatic and balls to the walls entertaining. I liked her arguments with Baxter and liked the exchanges between them. In the end though, this book was essentially about the two sisters and their relationship was the best one in the book. They were there to support each other, poke fun at each other and apparently hog the bed. they were really fun to watch and it made me wish that I had grown up with a sister! All in all, I enjoyed the book and have confirmed that I pretty much love every book written by Lori Foster! I’m wondering who and what the next book will be about since technically this was two romances in one. I’m guessing Maris? I’ll definitelh read the next one in the series.

All the Good Bits >>Cooper and Phoenix are nice people. Cooper's a stand up reliable guy you can easily turn to for help (he owns the resort). Phoenix is resilient and has a kind heart (and the new gardener). >>Their romance was a bit slow going since they both have issues to work through-- him the loss of his wife, her a robbery/assault. It was sweet and steady. And had a good bit of heat once things got rolling. >>There was a secondary romance as well when Phoenix's sister Ridley moves to the resort and decides to give the scuba instructor, Baxter, a run for his money. They were a bit more fiery and full of games. >>I loved the setting-- An RV resort. It was so fun! The guests, the staff. Dealing with mother nature, events, and just work. It was different and seriously made me want to spend the weekend there hanging out with everyone. >>Yes, there is a puppy! And she's amazingly adorable. My only complaint was the bit of suspense thrown in that was incredibly predictable. All in all, Cooper's Charm was a pretty fun read. While the storyline wasn't the most captivating read from Foster it was entertaining and I'll definitely read the next in the series just to spend time with the staff who are all pretty dang fantastic.

Together they slowly and reluctantly start to heal one another as strange things start to happen at the resort that seem to be targeting Phoenix. Ridley, Phoenix’s older sister also decides to come to Cooper’s Charm, her excuse is to watch over and be there for her sister, but she is also there to recover from a humiliating divorce. Ridley impulsively decides to take on the housekeeping duties for Cooper’s Charm and is surprised at how satisfying the manual work is. As with most divorcée’s, Ridley has sworn off men for anything other then a good time, no commitments. She meets the sexy scuba instructor, Baxter, and he has the job of the century to convince her that she is worth all the commitments he can give to her and more. The pairings were perfect in this story, Phoenix and Cooper were both damaged in their own ways and needed each other to help heal the holes and Ridley, being much more brash and outspoken needed Baxter and his confidence and his sometimes over the top flirtation to level her out. I can’t wait for more books from the Love at the Resort series!!!

On a whim, she applies for a job at Cooper's Charm doing the landscaping. This provides the healing she craves. The story is filled with memorable characters that leave the reader with a smile. Cooper is one of those men who I hope exists in real life. He's a genuinely nice guy who cares about people, even though he has suffered a terrible loss. Phoenix's sister Ridley is a sort of 'co-star' in the story and is just as memorable as Phoenix. The remaining cast are characters who I hope to see featured in upcoming stories.

Yes, there are potential hookups, and trust me you'll be cheering them on, but it's SO MUCH MORE than that. It's about Phoenix and the "big ugly" that happened to her, stealing her sense of self, and making her withdraw from those she loved. Did she give up? No...merely stole time to herself to regroup, but it didn't make the journey any less harrowing, nor the unexpected surprises any less bewildering (hello, Big Sexy...I mean Coop!). It's about Ridley, Phoenix's older sister, reeling from a bad divorce that left he with wads of cash, but a broken heart masquerading as new foudn freedom and confidence. Eventually, she'll break, but not before a lot of sexy banter is exchanged (and more) with a certain scuba god. It's about Coop and his carefully shielded heart, opening to the possibilities that love can bring...but don't think he'll go without a fight. He was touched by tragedy as well, making him more cautious of lending his heart out to, well....pretty much anyone...but that doesn't mean he isn't caring, protective, and a gentleman through and through for all those whose lives he touches. It's about Baxter, his unexpected past, and how it shaped the man he is today. His brazen flirtatious nature is smoldering, yet harmless...well, for most anyway...though true intimacy scares the ba jee bees out of him...for now. Those are just the main players, but it should come as no surprise that all the secondary characters are just as memorable too. All in all, it's a story about second chances, for man and beast, and how no matter what if we are true to ourselves, there's nothing more that can be asked. We may need to reset at times when life throws us off balance, as well as learn that accepting the helping hand of another is not a sign of weakness. Phoenix may see herself as broken and weak, but when seen through the eyes (and hearts!) of others, she's as mighty as an oak with a heart of gold...and with the likes of Coop (and Sugar!) hanging around, she's well on her way to rediscovering her old self. **copy received for review

We can decide whether we wish to wallow in self-pity and chant the mantra woe me or we can stand firm and take back charge of our lives. Phoenix Rose chose the latter option. Her determination to restore normalcy to her life after a brutal attack at her place of business was admirable. It demonstrated her strength. Her strong support system aided in her healing process, which placed her on a journey of self-discovery and provided her the opportunity to experience love in its truest form. I enjoyed watching Phoenix come alive. I loved that she found love in the arms of someone who had experienced his own share of tragic circumstances. Why? He understood her fears and as a result helped her through the healing process. The story featured a secondary romance involving Phoenix's sister Ridley. She took had her share of demons to contend with, but she never let her pain overshadow her concern for her younger sister. She came to Cooper's Charm to check upon Phoenix and found love and healing in the process. The featured romances though different, were both enjoyable. Phoenix and Cooper's romance is sweet and slow burning, while Ridley and Baxter's was scorching. The story is filled with humor and lots of sexy banter. I had a great time with the staff of Cooper's Charm. Their unique characteristics helped to make this a fun and easy read. The only issue I had with the story was the inclusion of the suspense thread. First, its predictability took away some enjoyment and secondly it never added much to the story. I agree it allowed Phoenix to confront her fears. However, the fact she had already conquered her fears made the addition of this thread unnecessary. Conclusion/Recommendation This is a great start to the Love at Resort series. I cannot wait to see what next this series has to offer. If you looking for a sweet summer read, featuring lovable characters, then you will want to check out Lori Foster newest offering.

I’ll just go on the record right up front and say that I’m a huge Lori Foster fan. Her books have just the right blend of backstory, angst, sweetness, feels and sexy times to satisfy just about any romance reader. Cooper’s Charm is no exception, so it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that I enjoyed this one a great deal. If I had to classify Cooper’s Charm, I’d call it a feel-good read. Cooper’s Charm is no exception, so it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that I enjoyed this one a great deal. If I had to classify Cooper’s Charm, I’d call it a feel-good read. There’s some horrible stuff that happened in the characters’ pasts, but it wasn’t harped on in such detail that it scared me or bummed me out or anything. Just the right amount of detail was given to let me get to know the characters, but there definitely wasn’t TMI. (I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate that. I hate TMI and have had more than one book that gave me nightmares as a result. I’m looking at you, Lisa Gardner.) Here’s some other stuff I really liked: 1. There are 2 main couples in the story. 2 romances for the price of one! You can’t beat that. 2. There’s a cute rescue beagle. I think all authors should write rescue dogs into their stories. What can it hurt, right? 3. It’s dual point of view, so you get the perspective of both male and female leads. I LOVE dual point of view in a romance. 4. There’s a little mystery thrown in, so even fans of romantic suspense would probably enjoy this one 5. Baxter is my new book boyfriend, and probably the only man I’d ever agree to take SCUBA lessons from. That is all. 6. I’d like to hang out with Ridley. She’s super interesting. Long-story-short, this is another winner from an author I’ve come to trust. Cooper’s Charm would make a PERFECT beach read. I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series. (Please, oh please, oh please make it Maris’s story…) Full disclosure: I received an ARC from NetGalley at no charge. I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I initially thought that this would be a Women’s Fiction novel, which is why I picked it up in the first place. But I’m quickly realizing a trend here with Romance authors. Even though the blurb sounds more like a Women’s Fiction novel, the contents inside will most likely be a straight up Romance. I was a bit disappointed by this but because I enjoyed the couple, I could let it go. This book starts off really well. I enjoyed both the hero and the heroine’s personalities. I found Phoenix to be especially enjoyable and I really loved her strong bond with her sister, Ridley. I feel like with Romance novels, sibling relationships aren’t always emphasized so I really loved that Foster decided to make Ridley such an important character to Phoenix. The book wanes in the middle and I think that’s because the author tried to introduce secondary characters into the mix all at once. I don’t mind building that sense of community but it did slow the book down considerably, especially as they have conversations about nothing. To me, it slowed down the book too much. So, this book is a lot of fun, but just be aware that there are going to be slow point. I feel like they are things that you can get over and so, I’m looking forward to trying the next book in the series to see what Foster decides to do next! *ARC provided by publisher Reviewed by Annie❤ ♡ Don't want to miss any of our posts? Let me just say, I’ve been reading romance novels for a long time and when I see a nature cover with any kind of animal, I automatically assume it is women’s fiction. The cover combined with the synopsis which focuses on Phoenix and Ridley as opposed to Phoenix and Cooper (the main couple) cemented my preconceived notions. I also assumed the book with be, if not clean, then at least contain some strategically written fade out scenes or colorful allusions to sex. Of course, if you’ve read Ms. Foster’s novels before, then you know she doesn’t shy away from sex scenes, but I thought she was taking a different route with this book. Boy, was I wrong. The sex scenes were steamy, which I enjoyed, but might come as a surprise for traditional women’s fiction readers. This was a very cute and fulfilling romance novel. Phoenix and Ridley both grow as characters and so do their respective love interests. There is a third couple alluded to in the novel and I wonder if they will get their own story. I wish there had been separate books for both Phoenix and Ridley. I think because Ridley had the secondary relationship, her story often felt rushed or less important than Phoenix’s story (besides the sex scenes). Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely. It is the perfect summer read. Very sexy, lots of heart, and a little bit of mystery to keep you guessing. I would recommend this to fans of Robyn Carr who wish the Virgin River Series had a lot more sex. **I received an ARC of this book in order to provide an honest review** Find/Follow me on Twitter Instagram and my blog !!

Story: I really enjoyed Phoenix and what Cooper's Charm managed to help her do to get her life back on track. However, the fact that Ridley, Phoenix's sister also got her story in the same book made me a little bit sad. I would have enjoyed for each sister to have her full story - not a two-for-one at the beginning of a series. That being said, Cooper's Charm is a solid beginning, and I loved the setting, the lake, the RV park, the fact that Cooper did all his best to make sure his guests were happy.  I enjoyed how life was a little slower here, and the characters found the time to get to know each other. When the characters opened up, I got to know them better, too. There was a mystery, and to me, it wasn't really necessary, and I guessed what was going on the first time something happened. I guess it made the plot move forward a little faster in places, but I think it could have been just as good without. Characters: Phoenix really needed a do-over. After being attacked at her workplace, she stayed hidden for six months, but now, she's ready to start living again, and Cooper's Charm is the perfect place to do so. Ridley, Phoenix's overbearing older sister only wants the best. For her sister, and for herself. However, she's been through a pretty nasty divorce, and is all for no strings attached. Cooper also has a lot of darkness in his past, and he definitely doesn't want a relationship. No way. Until he meets Phoenix and starts feeling again. Braxton is the aloof diving instructor of the resort, and he's definitely a player. Or is he? ★★★½
