So, yeah...I didn’t realize this was a novella until I opened it up and saw that there was a distinct lack of dots in the “this is how long this book is as evidenced by these dots” area of the good old Paperwhite. As such, all my grumbling about this book go hand in hand with it being a novella. So...can’t really complain... And yet still I will. I wish this had been longer. I've read all the novellas in this series and have loved almost all of them which is saying something because I tend to steer clear of novellas. I need the drawn out angst and slow build of a full novel, but the Crescent Moon series has just worked for me. In Wolf's Mate the couple are already seeing each other when the story starts, so no unnecessary time wasting - the story gets going right off the bat. The author as always captured my interest, but I would have liked a little more in the form of length with this one, but then I always want more when it comes to Katie’s shifter books. Narrator Review: This is a re-read with the audiobook version. I've listened to Jeffrey Kafer several times now and he's one of the few male narrators that I recommend. Story Review: This series of novellas is really enjoyable. You can read them as standalone so you aren't missing out if you hop into this one first. Normally I don't enjoy the reluctant hero very much but the author did a great job of showing us that he had no doubts when it came to Erica. Hudson is over a 100 years older than her and he thought with her being so much younger that he would scare her off if he got all possessive with her right away. He clearly showed he wanted her to stay. Unfortunately, Erica expected him to want to claim her right away so his hesitancy to do so sent her the wrong signals. This may sound like this is an angsty read, but it really isn't. I didn't worry over these two because their feelings for each other clearly translated on the pages. This is the kind of book I like to read if I want something quick, fun and that will satisfies my like for a jealous/possessive hero.

This was a cute steamy shifter romance that was low drama and low angst. It was funny how these two were so attuned to each other but let their own feelings of doubt and fear get in the way of what everyone already knew. That they were meant for each other. Erica didn't plan on falling in love when she took a year off to roam the country. She always planned to go back home to her pack. Erica didn't plan on falling in love when she took a year off to roam the country. She always planned to go back home to her pack. But one look at Hudson and she was pretty much a goner for the alpha wolf. But they never talked about anything beyond "having fun" and she sees his actions or non-action as the case may be, as confirmation that he doesn't feel the same as she does. When she finds out she's pregnant she knows she has to tell him but isn't expecting his rash announcement that they'll be mated. Not when there's no mention of love and it reeks of duty and obligations. Zach has been in love with Erica since first meeting her and his wolf instantly recognized her as their mate but his attempt to woo her slowly backfires when she mistakes his slow and steady courtship as him dragging his feet and not wanting her. Now that she's carrying his babies, Zach finds himself desperate to prove his love for Erica and finally claim her as his true mate. I liked Hudson and Erica, the alternating POVs helped you see where assumptions throw a kink in this love story and it was nice to see them finally talk and work things out between them. The chemistry and heat is definitely still there a la Katie Reus so fans of this series will enjoy this quickie read. Would I recommend? Yes, it was a cute addition to this author's ongoing shifter series. * * * ARC provided for an honest review * * * I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. SAFETY INFO: (view spoiler)[ Ages : Not really clear but Erica is 30 and Hudson a couple hundred years old. Their age difference/generational gap causes them both to assume too much about the other and does cause a rift. Cheating :None. OM/OW drama :None. These two are devoted to each from day one. Separation : One month. Push/Pull : Hudson thinks he's giving her the space and time she wants before claiming her and Erica misinterprets his actions as not enough interest and little to no lasting emotion from him. Main Pursuer of relationship :Hudson definitely is the main pursuer. Triggers : Miscommunication. HEA/HFN : Ends on as a HEA and has a one year later epilogue complete with the twins Hunter and Evan :) too cute! (hide spoiler)]

Although it was short, there was still plenty of palpable chemistry between Erika and Hudson and the romance was still believable. Other than the initial miscommunication that was keeping them apart, and aside from some teenagers causing some trouble, there wasn’t really much of anything else; no real drama, no huge obstacles to overcome, no particularly emotional moments. Wolf's Mate by Katie Reus, Savannah Stuart is book Seven in the Crescent Moon series. This the story of Erica and Hudson. I love when that happens. Hudson and Erica agree to a casual fling. A fling that Erica is now wishing was more. When it’s time for her to return to her home state, Hudson’s “stay a few more days” isn’t the proclamation of love she would like. A month later she’s returning to Hudson because things just got serious and she is forced to confront him, this time in person rather than phone, text or Skype. This is a very nice shifter novella that starts after this couple have been together. I loved how Hudson, from a different generation than Erica, was trying not to rush her but once she returned he wouldn’t let her leave. While Erica was pretty independent, I appreciated that she longed for that something more from Hudson. I never felt truly aggravated with him as the story wasn’t long enough to give me a chance to garner those emotions. Hudson is all alpha, all possessive, and all protective and this novella was long enough to highlight that fact. A fact that I love. There are secondary characters that support the hero and heroine and some that I would like to have more from. The steam is high as is the chemistry between these two. Overall, a very enjoyable read when you need something fast with a great alpha hero. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. This relationship is sticky, sweet, passionate and brings two emotionally confused wolves together as Erica and Hudson try to work through their feelings and determine if they are mates or not. The plot is fast paced and keeps readers glued to the pages with the romance suspense but also Hudson’s pack is having a bit of difficulty with another pack, so readers are introduced to two new packs and still get in some time with the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack – Grant. As always the characters are strong, captivating, easily connected to and draw their readers into their story and while the story is short, it is a delightful read with a fulfilling story because the author doesn’t try to pack too many happenings into too short of a book. The introduction to the new characters caught my attention which means that I hope means that Katie Reus continues to provide me Crescent Moon stories.

3.5 Stars We are introduced to the main characters when they have already spent an explosive month with each other but it was now time to make a decision to either stay or go. For a novella of 2 hours & 13 minutes this seemed to have a lot of content and we get alternating points of view so see the story from both sides. Yes there are misunderstanding on both sides which would have been cleared up easily if both parties communicated with each other, but there isn't a lot of drama or angst just a pleasant love story. As always with a Katie Reus story it flows well making the story very enjoyable......Although I am not a fan of Novellas and often skip them when reading a series, I always look forward to all of Katie's books whether full stories or short as I know I will be in for a good read. I was given a free audio copy by the author with the request to leave a review, but it was not a condition and not compulsory to do so. The story was read by Jeffrey Kafer who in my opinion did a good job.

I love Katie Reus books, so nabbing Wolf’s Mate was a no-brainer. I’m not a huge novella fan but Ms. Reus has treated me to some awesome ones full of rich characters. Since this was a paranormal about wolf shifters (one of my favorite kind of books!) I settled in for what I knew would be a good read. The book begins with Erica leaving Hudson. She’d been on a sabbatical of sorts from her home pack, traveling around visiting other packs and his pack was her last stop. She’d hit it off with Hudson almost immediately and they started something that was just supposed to be a bit of fun. When her feelings started to ramp up but he didn’t show any interest in taking it further than the current status quo, she decided it was time to go before she ended up more heartbroken than she already was. The main problem stems from these two not talking to each other. Which was unfortunate since lack of communication is in the running for my least favorite trope. They both had their reasons with Hudson being the main dumbass-I mean culprit, but Erica should have been honest about her feelings too. It’s good that I liked them both despite this. I especially liked Erica and her determination to do the right thing and inform Hudson of her pregnancy no matter how much it would hurt her already wounded heart even more. When faced with difficult choices she always made the ones I hoped she would, even if the cost to her was high. It took a bit for me to get over Hudson and his serious miscalculation when it came to his relationship with Erica. I loved that he was loyal to his pack and dedicated to his duty. No matter how boneheaded I thought he was being, in his mind he was doing what he thought was best for Erica which allowed me to not only forgive him but to end up being won over by him. My biggest letdown was in the action department. The small amount there was felt like it was thrown in there just to say there was some. Another little annoyance was the timeline jumping. For me at least, the story would have been better told in a linear fashion instead of the jumping back and forth between past and present. Despite my issues, I enjoyed Wolf’s Mate. It’s the characters that saved it and now I find myself wanting the know the stories of some of the other characters. Since this is the 7th book in the series, I’ve got lots of catching up to do. Rating: 3.5 It’s All About The Characters Stars I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

After finishing college, Erica, a wolf-shifter from the Alabama Kincaid pack, traveled across the country for a year to see the sights and have some fun before settling down and hopefully open her own beauty salon. She’s young, around thirty years old and a member of the Alabama Kincaid pack, she was an only child and her parents are gone. Visiting Montana she meets a sexy, much older shifter that she connects with, after a month she realizes she’s fallen for him and heads home. What they had was casual and fun but she needs more, she’d like to stay with him but he hasn’t spoken of mating and she needs to protect her heart. The encounter produced a double surprise that she now has to deal with. How does she tell a shifter who once mentioned he doesn’t want kids that she’s having his twins? Unsure if he will he be receptive to her idea of co-parenting as non-mates she heads to Montana. As second-in-command to his brother in the Montana Kendrick pack, the wolf-shifter Hudson has numerous pack responsibilities but that didn’t stop him from having a relationship with the gorgeous, young shifter who visited recently. He’s over two hundred years old and being of an older generation didn’t want to scare her by pushing to mate and he’s come to regret that decision. He hasn’t been the same since she left. He finally headed her way to bring her back to find she’d already returned. Finding out she’s pregnant puts him in an all cave-man mode but he’ll have to convince her he wants to mate not because they’re expecting but because he really loves her. This story was cute, a quick read with no angst, just a generational gap induced misunderstanding that had to be worked through. There were some pack incidents to address, nothing too serious though annoying to the alpha who really enjoys the predicament his brother has gotten himself into. An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Wolf's Mate by Katie Reu / Savannah Stuart is book 7 in the Crescent Moon series. This is Erica and Hudson’s story. Erica expected him to claim her right away so his hesitancy in doing so sends her the wrong signals. Erica decides to leave to return to her pack which Hudson doesn’t stop her from leaving- he has his reasons but wow did it look like he didn’t care. But something sends Erica right back a month or so later …will Hudson finally show Erica his deep, true love or will he continue to make stupid male moves that sends Erica back to her pack, for good? I liked this quick novella read. There wasn’t any heavy angst, just light and caused by the main characters own making. There is action, drama, light angst, passion and true love. This story , even though a novella, ended up feeling like a full course story. The characters come off as relatable and exciting. I can’t wait to read more books in this paranormal series. My Rating: 4.7 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."

When Erica meets Hudson their attraction is powerful and passionate. He's the second in command of the Kendrick pack. She's fallen hard for him but what does Hudson feel? I enjoyed this romance. The characters are likeable and the story is fast paced. I would have liked to get to know Erica and Hudson better because their chemistry is amazing. I'm a fan of the Crescent Moom Werewolf Romances.

This is wolf shifters Erica and Hudson Kendrick’s story line. WOLF’S MATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Erica and Hudson) WOLF’S MATE follows the building relationship between wolf shifters Erica, and Hudson Kendrick. Erica has been traveling for close to a year, and her final destination brings her up close and personal with the Kendrick Pack of Montana. One month together with Hudson Kendrick, their second in command, has Erica thinking about a happily ever after but Hudson makes no attempt to claim our heroine as his mate. Upon her return home to the Kincaid Pack in Alabama, Erica discovers that she is pregnant with Hudson’s pups, and struggles with the possibility of raising them on her own. What ensues is the quick profession of love between our leading couple, as they must make a decision about their future. WOLF’S MATE is a very quick read; a sexy, sassy and cute story about two shifters, a lack of communication, and a happily ever after. The premise is imaginative; the romance is spicy; the characters are spirited and animated. Katie Reus continues to build upon her Crescent Moon series one entertaining shifter couple at a time. Malcolm invited Erica to jin his pack when he picked her up at the airport as Hudson was on his way to her pack and didn’t know she was back in Montana and Malcolm needed to be taught a lesson and didn’t tell Hudson. This was an excellent read. I wish it had been a little longer but that is because I so enjoyed the book so much. I loved Hudson and Erica together . I did chuckle at times especially when Hudson went to Alabama the same time Erica went back to Montana. I especially loved when Hudson offered to leave his pack and join her even though he was established in his pack. Just an all around excellent paranormal romance. This was a quick, fun, and easy read. . I loved the characters and the in and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Hudson and Erica had an awesome month together while she roamed for a bit away from her pack. He asked her to stay multiple times, but never with any mating intent, so she decided to head back to her pack, even though she loved him. She wanted him to claim her, and he didn't. Hudson, in the meantime, was simply trying not to be a possessive prick, but it backfired. He wants her back desperately. Erica learns that she's pregnant with twins and realizes she has to go tell him. Once she does, Hudson offers everything she's wanted, but how can she believe it's for her? So this is NOT 250 pages as the description on Goodreads suggests. It's a 71-page novella. It's short and sweet and a little hot, but there's only one sex scene and it's at the very end, so not smut either. This is a pretty decent PNR. Hudson is alpha-ish, but he's trying very hard to be a rational guy who gives his woman choice and treats her like an equal. Unfortunately, that isn't what she's after...to a degree, yes, she wants to be treated like an equal, but she also wants to see that Hudson is going crazy for her, is jealous and possessive and wants to claim her completely. She wants to see his uncivilized side. As much as I liked reading about their relationship, their little bit of angst felt kinda drawn out and contrived - constant disruptions when they finally do sit down and talk and in the back of my mind I kept thinking that all of this could have been avoided if Erica had communicated as well. It's not exactly out of character and it wouldn't be all that hard to ask for some clarification about the reasons he wanted her to stay or come back (and he asked multiple times), to admit her feelings or to simply say, "Hey, I'd be willing to stay if this was going somewhere, but if it isn't, I have to go back to my pack." Problem solved...although admittedly no story. But reading and thinking that's what they SHOULD have done dimmed my enjoyment a bit.

Review: Another great read from one of my go-to Authors. This is a quick read, but a well-rounded story for a small package. I love a good oops baby story and that this one involves some supernatural beings, just adds to my enjoyment. This is book 7 in the series, but each can totally be read as a stand alone and be enjoyable to read. If you have read the series, you will see some familiar characters. I loved Erica and Hudson. They are both great as individuals, strong, smart, caring but together they really do make a united force. They have just enough insecurities to add tension to their love story, but not insurmountable. If you want a quick entertaining read, I would highly recommend picking up this book. 4Stars *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book provided by the Author.*

Now he has to convince her she is his mate because he loves her and not because she is pregnant. This is a quick read that takes you back to the Crescent Moon series. I really like Erica and her how she isn't afraid to speak her mind. And the way she handles Hudson actually made me laugh in places. Because there is an age difference between them Hudson makes the mistake of thinking he shouldn't act the way his people have acted when they find their mate. And reading about their reactions to his statement about that made me laugh. Of course his brother made me crack up too! I can only hope this author keeps this series going as I happen to love it!
