I really enjoyed the surprises in this story, and I really want to know more about what's going on in the Red Dungeon. The cliffy on this was interesting as well. Looking forward to the next one!

A cost that requires periodic compensation. With the clock ticking, Malloron needs to focus on lining up all the the components needed to pay or risk forfeiting his family's very heritage. Returning to the western lands of Eiros after an extended absence helping Emperor Drocco, Malloron is emotional over the fact that Omegas have been hiding right under his nose in his very castle. Now armed with ways to identify an Omega compliments of Drocco, Malloron finds her: his very own Omega. Amara has been on her current mission for the past two years and becoming increasingly frustrated over a lack of progress. The castle is just too big and magical blocks too strong for her to break without detection. Slipping up, Amara is captured by King Malloron and resigned to initiating the suicide protocol in place for captured spies until Malloron proposes a deal that is too good to refuse. A deal that would give her the access and information she needs to complete her assignment if she's willing to submit to Malloron with total access to her body however he wants for a one month period of time after which she is free to leave. * * * * Just putting this out there for any potential reader to this book or series. This is the 4th installment in the "Myth Of Omega" in a dark fantasy erotic romance series. Book 1-3 chronicled the romance between Drocco & Cailyn which has gotten to a HFN/HEA conclusion. Reign To Ruin changes the focus to the second couple - that of Malloron & Amara (secondary characters of previous installments). So, for those who despise cliffhangers, you're golden for previous installments as long as you stop after #3 but, realize that this DOES end in a cliffhanger with a new couple with the next installment Reign To Ravage (Myth of Omega #5) due to be released September 21, 2018. Readers of the series have a good grasp regarding the world building and erotic style of this author. My take on the actual erotica is based on the premise that any true Alpha/Omega pairings provide the couple with what they need - sexually, emotionally, etc. so rough sex (if consensual) should be expected if it's right for them. In the case of this couple, the addition of BDSM play spices it up even more. Malloron was pretty much a despised secondary character from previous installments to the point I was reluctant to read this story. The build up for Malloron really didn't thrill me as there were mention he was at the core of child sexual trafficking which is the focal point of Amara's mission (not spoiler info for THIS book) so ya, not something I wanted to delve into. Yet, the pace and evolving series plot story line is so addictive and so intriguing (along with open ended issues) that I just had to .... and was so glad I did. Surprisingly, the author changed up the adult content in regards to dub-non con elements so it had more focus on directing the reader's attention to enjoying the scenes vs debating if one of the participants crossed the line in consensual. Additionally, the vague BDSM scenes (purists may have isssues agreeing it's BDSM) are consistent with the whole Alpha role but bring it into a more formal presentation. The secondary characters are well developed and add value to the story and world building. Emric is Tonin's replacement as wing man for Malloron but in an entirely different role. Can I do a shout out that I am more than excited over his possible step up as a featured main character. There's also a mysterious and unnamed character who I'm sure is going to be important for the future but for now, too early to tell. I'm concerned over this series as the cliffhanger endings at the end of each installment are becoming increasingly irritating. A smart decision, in my opinion, is to strategically plan for cliffhangers instead of making it the norm. The only positive is the author is pushing out new installments in a timely fashion so the wait time isn't as cutting as it could be in a similar fashion as Vi Voxley did with her series. I am addicted to this series that has the feel of Game of Thrones worlds but with an infusion of magic skills and adult content erotica. My personal recommendation for any potential fans interested in this series would be to grab and read the first three installments and then hold back until the Malloron & Amara adventure concludes.

The H deals with human trafficking and has sex slaves (he doesn't use them). Some of the slaves are treated so harshly by task masters, they die. He seems unfeeling as to their predicament and appears to view them as cattle. It's not clear at this time if that's what he really feels as there are hints things might be different than they appear to be. He makes a lot of money from the sex-slaves and is known for having the best. There are hints that children are used for something but it's uncertain at the present time what that is. It doesn't appear to be sexual. Cliffy Oh my goodness! This book was sooo different than what I expected. I initially liked it but I freaking loved the direction it took at the end. Wow! I didn't see that coming. I was absolutely gobsmacked and can't wait for book 2! Before I began reading this, I knew it would be very different from the Myth of Omega series and it was. Myth of Omega focused on the couple, their relationship and his over whelming desire for the h. This book focused more on the foundation for the unique story that Ms. Ellis has created. The relationship between the H and h, while there with some super hot sex scenes, didn't appear to be the focal point of the story. You see, the H was focused on something else. Something that's a mystery to the reader but of the upmost importance to him. He desperately wants an omega and it seems for a reason other than to have a mate. A mate makes a man weak and he can't afford to be weak. He has a country that depends on him to protect, so he must be strong. When the H discovered the h was an omega, he was thrilled. He felt drawn to the h, possessive of her and at the same time fought his feelings. He didn't want to want her like he did. As the story progressed, a slow crescendo began to build toward the main event and holy freaking heck! Wow! I knew something was up but had no idea. I don't want to say more about this because it's pivotal to the story but realize patience is a virtue and you will be rewarded with a doozy of a cliffhanger, lol. I absolutely LOVED the direction this book took and can not wait for the next one. I do recommend this book to anyone who loves omegaverse stories and is ok with a slower burn with the relationship building, not the sex. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Reign to Ruin continues in the same Omegaverse as the Myth of Omega series, but follows different characters. It can possibly be read as a standalone, but it’s probably easier to understand if you read the MoM series first. The story starts out slow, but the dynamic between Malloron and Amara is intriguing, gaining momentum for the story and making it difficult to put down. In the previous MoM books, King Malloron learns that there are Omega spies within his castle, but he doesn’t know why they’re Reign to Ruin continues in the same Omegaverse as the Myth of Omega series, but follows different characters. It can possibly be read as a standalone, but it’s probably easier to understand if you read the MoM series first. The story starts out slow, but the dynamic between Malloron and Amara is intriguing, gaining momentum for the story and making it difficult to put down. In the previous MoM books, King Malloron learns that there are Omega spies within his castle, but he doesn’t know why they’re there. He isn’t thrilled that there are people within his home that are deceiving him, but he isn’t necessarily threatened either. Even more, Malloron’s excited, too, but not because he’s an Alpha looking for a mate. No, there’s a secret reason he needs an Omega and he’s beyond pleased when he discovers Amara, a beautiful servant he suspects is an Omega. There’s a rumor of Malloron’s kingdom capturing children and holding them hostage in the Red Dungeon, and that’s where the Omega spies come in. Amara is one of the Omega leaders and she’s determined to find and free the imprisoned children she believes are being kept as slaves. Working as a servant, she has seen the horrors and results of Malloron’s pleasure chamber, and is sickened when he sets his sights on her, leading to her pushing away and Malloron refusing to let her go. Malloron is not a good guy, but compared to his personality in the first three books, in Reign he’s more of a Malloron-light. He’s selfish and crosses many lines, but he’s not as dark as I expected. (He does own slaves (most of them are sex slaves), but it’s often just mentioned and never shown, so it’s easy to ignore and forget about.) He was really taken by Amara and although he doesn’t treat her like gold, he still treats her fairly well for a captive and he acquiesces to most of her demands. Amara was strong and fought Malloron on everything, but she was a pretty crappy spy. I think with such a proud character I expected her to be better at her job. :-/ I liked the story and plan on reading the next one, but my biggest issue with the book was the amount of editing errors. Even for an ARC it was rife with so many mistakes that it often impeded my ability to understand what Ellis was trying to say. BTW, Safe read with jealous H.

Another great installment in the Myth of the Omega series. I love this series, and I loved the start of Malloron and Amara's relationship. Like Drocco, Malloron is an alpha in every way, but he is much more twisty and manipulative than Drocco was and reminded me a lot of Loki. He is a powerful Talent user, and through him, we learn more about magic in this world. He has his own unique magic, but he needs an omega in order to further his power, and once he learns that omegas are in his castle, he is both angry and looking for a way to put them to use. Once he finds Amara, he knows that he wants her for his own uses. Amara is on the lookout for children that are being trafficked and once Malloron captures her, she agrees to his demands in hopes of finding them. Both are entirely willing to use the other to further their plans, but Malloron's are definitely worse than Amara's are. Amara is a ruthless young woman willing to give into Malloron's demands to fulfill her own goals. While he undeniably controls the situation, he still needs her to ultimately agree to everything or his plans can't work. He maintains control via his manipulations, but Amara still gives him as good as she gets. This book was a delight to read. I liked both Malloron and Amara, the sex scenes were excellent, and Ellis really expands her world in this book. She ended the book on a cruel cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the next one. These books are really some of the best m/f omegaverse out there. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I want to make it clear right away that this was a case of it's not you, it's me. I really wanted to like this one; there aren't enough MF Omegaverse stories out there, and the first couple of books in this series were pretty good. I just somehow couldn't get into Reign to Ruin. I think part of it was that Malloron didn't feel as charmingly evil as I'd come to expect from seeing him in Crave to Conquer. In fact he felt almost banal. For a book with an author's note that promised deep fuckery, it was surprisingly... light. At least, that was my take on it. 2 stars for now, but I'm going to return to this one and hope I'm more ready for it next time. I do expect that everyone else will love it. I received an ARC from the author which has not influenced my review.

I have read the "Crave to" series that follows Emperor Droco and Cailyn's adventures from Cailyn's discovery as an Omega to her acceptance of her Alpha, and I think it's important for that series to be read before starting the "Reign to" series that follows King Malloron and Amara. I really enjoyed this book. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because the beginning did seem a bit slow but definitely picked up pace. King Malloron is a powerful man who is not used to having his power tested by others. Amara is a strong, determined woman. Malloron appeared to be a very unpleasant character in the first series of books, so I was both very interested in reading more about him, as well as discovering if that impression was correct. In the hope of finding out some of his secrets, perhaps rescuing innocent children and also protecting her fellow omega's, Amara makes an arrangement with Malloron. An arrangement which gives him use of her body, though really he has ulterior motives in mind. Can Amara find the information she seeks and keep herself safe too? The story started off with quite a slow pace and almost failed to grab my attention. However because I'd enjoyed the Crave series so much I persevered. I'm thankful I did as once I got into the story, I really didn't want to put the book down. There are lots of dark elements in this story, though some of this was implied rather than experienced. In particular was treatment of the slaves as they were trained for and also served in the pleasure chambers. Whilst I really liked Amara, there were times when she came across as quite naive. She didn't believe Malloron over some things, like tainted food, yet at other times totally (and foolishly) trusted him. She also seemed to totally forget her mission at one point, though this partly might have been due to the strong bond between her and Malloron. The chemistry between them was intense and the sex scenes had an element of BDSM about them. Whilst they weren't really safe, sane or consensual at first, both parties found them an enjoyable experience. If dark and/or kink isn't always your thing I'd still recommend reading this as they were fairly mild and minor in this. Malloron is a deliciously depraved individual, the sort you love to hate to love. I've still not made my mind up if he is evil, or makes unpleasant decisions and choices for the greater good. I definitely liked him more by the end of the story than I did at the start, but there is still some way to go before he redeems himself. There is lots of intrigue in the story and the twist at the end was TOTALLY unexpected. I can't wait to see how this continues, I can't even begin to imagine where we will journey next.

Don't judge this book unless you've read the other installments! That being said, King Malloron is a very different alpha from Drocco. He *is* that cruel but charming alpha that you're not necessarily going to like in the beginning of the story but he has met his match with Amara. She is a more seasoned Omega operative than Cailyn was so she finds herself going toe to toe with Malloron and her skills can't match his. Her fire and devotion to her mission isn't abandoned the minute she capitulates to Malloron which I LOVED. I've read many a "reluctant mate to the Alpha" novel and within 10 pages, the heroine abandons all the toughness and grit that you were ready for! That's why the Alpha liked her to begin with!! Grrrr... I did find Malloron's character arc a little slow to wander over to the "good side" but it arrived just in time of course for the novel to end!!! But in hindsight, that's what I liked about this novel -- Malloron was set in his ways much like Drocco was and given his use of ancient magic and the fact that he had a kingdom to protect, his resistance to recognizing his own emotions was understandable. I could not believe the novel ended where it did. Zoey Ellis is a master (mistress?? :) of the cliffhanger. You KNOW a cliffhanger is coming but it still shocks you all the same as you frantically swipe to the next page (on Kindle ;)), going "oh noooo. It's OVER??" Oh and the sex scenes are dark and very different from the ones in the previous novels, so I appreciate so much when sex scenes are inventive, original, and suit the specific characters vs. being repetitive. One scene I kept going over and over back to was where Malloron thinks Amara is interested in someone else and harshly confronts her. You'll know what I'm talking about. ;)

It has come to his attention, however, that magic was being used in his very own castle, and he has finally found the culprit - a surprisingly attractive slave who seems to somehow have access to many aspects in his home via her jobs. When Malloron is sure Amora is the one responsible, he determines that she has an ulterior motive but still strikes an agreement with her (not that she had a choice) once she admits she is an Omega, a prize his father had often spoken about. Little did those around him know he has been searching to no avail for an Omega to achieve his ultimate goal. Malloron soon finds himself seeking opportunities to be with her, though he never seems able to sate himself, no matter how often or depraved their encounters become. Amara has been hiding in plain sight as a slave of many trades, observing and trying to complete the task the Mothers have assigned to her and the team she leads. When she is discovered, however, Amara realizes that perhaps she can use her agreement to glean more information on the whereabouts of the children she was trying to locate within the walls of the castle. But it will only cost her the use of her body as he demands it, whenever he demands it. A small price to pay, she consoles herself. But soon Amara finds herself mired in conflicting emotions, knowing who this Alpha is, along with his reputation, and especially the way he makes her feel when she is with him, all collectively warring with her primary task, which to lead her team to find the children in the yet-to-be-found Red dungeon. The bigger question was what she going to do, now that they were nearing the end of their one-month agreement…And she was no closer to her goal? I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Having read, and loved, the previous Myth Of Omega books, I had high expectations for Reign To Ruin. I was not disappointed. This time round, we are taken back to the Western Lands and Eiros Castle, home of King Malloron. Unlike other Alphas in Omegaverse books, who want and need Omegas mainly to mate with, Malloron has a different agenda, making this book unique right from the get-go. As a matter of a fact, Malloron hasn’t had sex in years as he believes people use it as a tool to manipulate others and doesn’t want to put himself in that position. He already knows there is a hidden Omega in his castle, all he has to do is find her to be able to carry out his plan. The catch is that she has to be “willing” and, as is the norm with Omegas, of course she is not willing. Amara, the Omega, has her own mission to complete, which involves the children in the Red Dungeon. She unknowingly slips up and gives herself away by using a bit of magic to try and help heal people. Once found, an agreement is struck between Malloron and Amara. There is a threat to overthrow someone in a position of power and we are introduced to a new genus - Gamma. Reign To Ruin is expertly written with a very slight BDSM edge to it which intrigues rather than repulses. It leans towards the dark side of romance but again, nothing too off-putting. If new to the Myth Of Omega series, you don’t need to read the previous 3 books before reading Reign To Ruin but you will understand and enjoy it more if you do. Who will be reigned and who will be ruined? The book ends in a cliff-hanger and I really did love reading the start to Malloron and Amara’s story, so I will be counting down the days until book 5 is released. I received an ARC of this book and am willingly leaving this honest review.

While for me, the jury is still out on if King Malloron can be redeemed, Zoey Ellis' Reign to Ruin is another epic journey into dark delights. We first meet both Amara and King Malloron during Drocco and Cailyn's story. I was less than impressed with Malloron. His kingdom is viper's nest of depravity in those books, and it's even worse now that we're seeing more of it. Or is it? Ellis is providing some very tasty tidbits of something else going on beneath the surface. Malloron himself is every inch an Alpha bent on achieving his own end game. It is curious how his needs somehow started to include a mate instead of just an Omega. Amara is an accomplished spy and team leader, but it appears in this first phase of her relationship with Malloron, she's way out of her depth. Malloron's manipulation knows no bounds, while Amara is determined to protect her team and find the children in the red dungeon. She's playing against a stacked deck. Now the question is, is she the wild card Malloron didn't expect? Reign to Ruin leaves us with more questions than answers at this point. I'm curious as to why the Mothers didn't tell Amara the truth about the Alpha/Omega bond and the shift in the Omega compound. There's a game there that may be even deeper and more corrupt than Malloron's. Will Malloron find a way to reach Amara in time? Will Amara solve the puzzle of the red dungeon? I hope Ellis is writing fast because I'm dying to know the answers to these questions and more!

To save her Omega sisters, she has to give herself in every way to the king. She wants to know the king’s secrets, she wants to save the children, she wants to save the Omegas, but will she lose herself in the process? Reign to Ruin is a 2-star book. I have so many issues with Reign to Ruin. For starters, the book needs another edit. There are huge grammatical errors. Some of them were just so awful that I had to reread the sentence to understand what Zoey Ellis was trying to say. A good portion of the book was slow, dull and boring. I expected a book filled with corruption and sex. This book has so very little to keep my attention. The love story was okay, but even that was a bit mediocre. I was very disappointed in Reign to Ruin.

This is the fourth book in the Myth of Omega series but revolves around a completely different couple than the first three books did. Since it's a different couple, technically it could be read as a standalone, but I don't recommend it. I think it would be much easier to follow along if you had read the books in order. Amara is the team leader for a group of Omegas who have secretly infiltrated the Eiros castle for the last couple years. Malloron is King of Eiros and has been searching for an Omega to be his Queen for years. What will happen when Malloron discovers Amara is an Omega secretly posing as a Beta? I liked the dynamic between the two and thought they were actually good together. It took me longer to feel that way about the characters from the first three books, Cailyn and Drocco. I was surprised at how Malloron was towards Amara though. We were introduced to King Malloron in Cailyn and Drocco's story and the impression of him was that he was an evil tyrant out to torture Omegas. In my opinion, he was not near as cruel to Amara as Drocco was to Cailyn. It will be interesting to see what happens to the couple, especially after the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of this book. I can't wait. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

King Malloron is a strong, alpha male anti-hero, and oh how I love a powerful bad boy. I believe his desire to find an Omega causes the King to be the rough and tough Alpha that he exhibits. When he first observes Amara, he suspects that she is one, and Malloron is determined to use her for his own needs. Although, she doesn’t trust him at all! Reign to Ruin was a little slow at the beginning for me. Then, the storyline quickly picked up when Malloron and Amara made their pact. Phew! Can I tell you, the sex scenes were blazing hot! I became completely engrossed in figuring out what would happen next that I forgot about the cliffhanger! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! *Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Copy*

I'd take whatever you have written on the next and beta read I want it so bad. I don't beta read....ever. I'm almost begging for part two. Keep on writing.

ARE YOU READY? Another Zoey Ellis book is finally available. If you’ve read the first three books in the Myth of Omega series, you’ll know that King Malloron is a very nasty man. Highly recommended and if you haven’t yet read the first three books in the series, you’ll want to grab them too. The author has created a wonderful world with characters that are more than they seem (and often more than they know). Preconceived ideas will be ripped apart and new ideas will take their place and you get to watch this change step by step. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

An amazing cat and mouse romance set in a fantastical world of magic and mystery. It’s a romance in a fantasy omegaverse world. King Malloron is not a nice guy. You know the kind of book where you don't want to cheat and read the end before actually start the book, and you want to really read it fast so you can get to the end and yet still want to read slowly so you can really savor and hope it never ends? I didn't like him much in Drocco and Cailyn's books but he is creeping up on me now. I kinda like him. Wow, just wow...
