I'm so glad this author is still bringing us her fabulous Kindred guys. If honest I'd been a little dismayed at the thought of her continuing to diversify them too much as even though I know it's not hard science I still want to believe that perhaps everything she dreams up is possible. So this story about a beast kindred felt right to me as let's face it as gorgeous and loving as these alpha males are there's clearly only so many species that they could procreate with. Now that being off my chest what did I think ? There are two major factors here one being the bizarre house that Chloe is cloistered in and then there's sweet, but frustrated Tark. Ok I need to elaborate obviously. Chloe is kidnapped by aliens seeking to cash in on the slave trade but they believed all the paparazzi items about how every earth female aspires to be rake thin. Chloe is never going to be a skinny Minnie but nevertheless the odd equipment they install does everything it can to starve oops sorry motivate her to be thin ! Tark suffers from what I would call a stutter. Raised by a family who clearly let him down he is at his wits ends to finally cure it. Can a prophecy about a jewel be his answer ? Following clues leads him to Chloe who coincidentally just happens to be a speech therapist ! Yep as a reader we guess exactly where that most precious gem actually is but it's not exactly as small as Tark thought ! The couple help each other at a couples retreat unlike any I've heard of with Tark learning to use his voice which I thought was insightful and encouraging to others who struggle. Yes there's the usual sexy shenanigans with weird aliens, peculiarl food and disappearing clothes. Best of all though two people in tune with each other and what more could I ask ? Sexy and funny and a must read for fans of the Kindred This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts are honest and I believe fair.

Twenty-five books in and this "writer" still doesn't have a command of the English language. A king "reigns." You "rein" in your emotions just like you rein in your horse. This isn't rocket science. 🙄 Otherwise, it's the same old story with different names. Should just take these straight to porn vids because the stupid story doesn't matter and it's all about the sex. That's the caliber of the writing here.

Note: I haven't read the book, this is a comment on the blurb and whole premise of the book. Huh. That blurb. Where do I start? My eyes literally bulged out of my sockets comically when I read it. Seriously, a Smart House for fat people to lose weight? Wouldn't it have been easier to abduct thin people? The abductors could make a faster profit! LETTUCE AND CELERY?! I hate the ignorance it shows in the challenges and triumphs of the weight loss journey. This kind of mindset is dangerous and misogynistic. Long term and sustainable weight loss is achievable by a lifestyle change, moderation and a calorie controlled diet. As someone who has been on the diet yoyo for half of my adult life, I've had the best results by engaging with professionals and INCREASING the amount of food I ate in combination with a training plan and a good support system. But back to the blurb... it just doesn't make sense for space capable abductors to use a smart-alec talking scale, that wouldn't compel people to lose weight as negative talk doesn't motivate anyone to lose weight. Also, a regular scale will only tell you what your gross weight is, not the composition on your weight (lean mass vs fat content). It is actually common to gain weight through lean mass (muscle) while losing fat and going down in dress sizes when on a diet and training plan. I know that BBW is a popular genre in romance and when I read it, I don't focus on the dimensions of the female but more so her choices and actions. Nonetheless I find it amusing that the hero is always jacked like a fitness model. So it's okay for the female to be chubby but the dad-bod isn't okay? Double standards much? I'm a massive fan of Evangeline Anderson but she has a very distinct flavour in her writing that you come to expect: plus sized heroines, macho heroes, scorching sex secenes, an awesome adventure and a truly satisfying HEA all packaged in some strong writing. Unfortunately there are themes in her writing that I've come to accept: big ladies who 'own' their curves but will still bash lean people with negativity, heroes whose Kindred 'type' reputation will proceed them, a back and forth first sex scene that is juvenile and cringy and a confounding obsession with cupcakes (why not mix it up with donuts, cheese or something healthier like humus or mangosteen?!). I've also noticed a recent trend towards exhibitionism and resorts/wellness spas/couples retreats/other locations that require some kind of kink activity but that's more of an observation rather than complaint. I am really disappointed in the premise of this new book as I love to read about less than perfect heroes but I am more disappointed in the mindset Evangeline Anderson has taken in her more recent books. It's a hard world big people have to navigate through, but successful authors like Ms Anderson who has such a massive reach can contribute a positive narrative to the challenges of large people. Instead of writing a hate novel on the diet and exercise machine, why not write about powerful heroines who succeed despite the challenges in their life. I'm sick of reading of big girls who are losers - dead end careers, nothing going for them and no positive relationships in their lives. How about the big girls who are leaders in their fields, who love their jobs, contribute to their community, have healthy relationships and are strong role models to the people around them? They don't have to be someone super accomplished, but I've always believed that a woman's true beauty comes from her sense of self worth, confidence and her generosity in sharing her beauty with others. Please Ms Anderson, please create positive female characters for females that doesn't focus on the shape of their bodies, but what they represent and can do for women. I'm certain that this book is awesome as most of Evangeline Anderson books are, but I'm going to sit out on this nonetheless on principle. Instead, I'll patiently wait for the next offering with anticipation. For all my sisters out there struggling with their weight and health, as someone who has made to the otherside but still struggles with fitness, change is hard. Don't focus on an unattainable dress size but instead focus on small changes, better habits, loving yourself more, celebrating your small successes and not being so hard on yourself when you fall off the bandwagon. Limit your contact with toxic people and find a support nerwork who appreciates all that you are! xo

We aren't all size 5's. Everyone has scars and imperfections of some sort. Some people have a disability, they may be blind or deaf and some people have survived abuse. What I love about this series is that the author doesn't shy away from creating heroes and heroines that readers can relate to. Chloe is a plus sized girl who is kidnapped by aliens. Commercians to be exact, and if you've read the author's AMI series you would know exactly who these jerkhole guys are. Since they screwed up by abducting the wrong girl, they decided they may as well work with what they had. So they put Chloe in a smart house to help her lose weight since she wasn't an ideal weight to buyers. The whole house was basically a fat camp on steroids. All the appliances monitored her weight, diet and exercise non stop. It taunted her with what she couldn't eat and nagged at her constantly to exercise. It was pure torture. Both mentally and physically. Poor Chloe! But what I loved about Chloe is that even though she was a bigger girl, she owned her curves. Sure the house gave her a serious dent in her self confidence it didn't destroy her. She was still sassy, brave and resourceful. Tark, Tark, Tark. He is by far my all time favorite Kindred. Not because he was a big, sexy bad ass. But because he was a big, sexy bad ass with a stutter. Yes, he wasn't the usual perfect hero matched up to the imperfect heroine. I love this!! He had his own issues and insecurities that he had to overcome. He didn't think that he was good enough for the perfect "elite" Chloe because he was raised to believe that he was flawed and no woman would ever want to be his mate. He broke my heart. They both did. Chloe because she was doubting her beauty and appeal to Tark and Tark because of his insecurities. Both were judged because they didn't conform to societies standards but there was never a more perfect couple together. Tark worshiped Chloe for her beauty both on the inside and out and Chloe who loved Tark for who he was while helping him overcome his stutter. Great characters, awesome story, engaging, exciting and lots of panty melting scenes. Grab this book and devour it like I did. I can't wait to see what's next in the lineup!

Behind some very funny scenes there’s a serious side addressing the ills of a society that prizes “thin” women as ideal and insensitively disregarding what is truly ideal in a person. Chloe, a pretty plus sized, pink haired woman has been subjected to “fat shaming “ her whole life due to her weight “issues”. This book has all the great elements of the Kindred books but it also pulled at my heartstrings approaching the challenges that make some of us different and how the world treats these people as well as how it affects their own self-esteem. Although there is not a horrible evil entity endangering the hero and heroine, the story line’s exciting crazy adventurous quest holds the readers minds and imaginations from the very first page to the last. Tark , a Beast Kindred has suffered all his life with a severe stutter. Abused by his father for his impediment, he has withdrawn from society. In addition he feels his condition makes him undeserving of ever having a mate. Some characters really pull on my heart strings and Tark is one of them. On his quest to find a cure for his stuttering, he finds himself rescuing Chloe from the aliens. Chloe, who happens to be a speech therapist, goes on this quest to help the big Kindred who has come to her aide. Thru different worlds, dimensions, crazy adventures and sexy hot situations, misunderstandings between the two well developed characters, the author has gifted us with another wonderful escape into the Kindred world.

Another great book by Evangeline Anderson. I just love reading about the Kindreds. When it come to the Kindred there is not one I do not like. As we read about Tark we get to see the hardship this brought to his life. For this he was on the search of a jewel that would take his stuttering away. The one thing I love about these stories is the author does an amazing job writing the female character to go with the Kindred and Chloe was that. Chloe battled with there weight. She felt unworthy of men. She felt looked down up on. So I can only imagine the nightmare when she found herself kidnapped by aliens that wanted her to lose weight. Well more like forcing her to lose weight. Each piece of this house like place she was staying at had to be a nightmare. I laughed so hard when Tark was going through the house that Chloe was being held captive at. I pictured these fist pumps from Chloe with each thing Tark destroyed..lol So funny. Here Chloe was feeling like she had no hope to find herself getting a spark of hope when Tark arrived. Tark and Chloe will go on an amazing journey and self discovery. There are some pretty steamy parts and so very touching parts. I loved how Chloe was the key to Tark’s happiness. She might not could heal him of the stuttering but she could should be his light in a dark tunnel. Great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

There is a kitchen but she cannot access anything to cook. There's a fridge and cupboard that talk, in fact nearly everything in the house talks, but all they say is that she must lose weight while displaying goods that she cannot access. Even fruit is not allowed! Only dry pellets that contain all the vitamins and minerals that she needs. It doesn't seem to matter, she still cannot lose weight. She has always been accepting of her curves until now but, after being told day in and day out that she is not thin enough, her self esteem is at an all time low. To add insult to injury they don't even supply clothes that fit! They are all at least a size too small. Along comes Tark. Tark is a Beast Kindred who has grown up on the Twin Moons. To him Chloe is the ideal female; what the Twin Kindred call an Elite. He is visiting the Commercian's station because of a prophecy telling that he will find a jewel there that will cure him of his stutter. When he doesn't find it he rescues Chloe as he is leaving. Of course it isn't that simple and things get more complicated as time goes on. I have to say that WE had again written a fast actioned, very lusty romance that is also very funny! I had to groan at Tark and Chloe's blindness. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that they were pretty dumb! No matter, this is a light, fun story to read and a must for Kindred fans.

As these two work together to complete Tarq’s quest, they become quite close due to the “couple’s resort” where they must travel. Is this attraction real, or is it due to circumstance? Highly entertaining, super sexy and a story I can definitely recommend. *** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***

another instalment from the brides of the kindred. This one focused on Chloe a plus sized girl held prisoner inside a ‘fat shaming’ diet house and Tark a beast kindred with a speech impediment. On a mission to find a jewel to help him fix his broken voice... he stumbles across Chloe who is actually a speech therapist. Tark is focused on an immediate fix and accepts Chloe’s offer to help him find the jewel. I’m trying to figure out why and I think it’s a combination of the focus on the fat shaming house... now BBW is not a new thing for the author, and I’m gutted to say that the heroine wasn’t convincing as someone who ‘embraced her curves‘ coupled with the events on the clone planet ( gella bed ) and the whole ‘angst’ around it...for me it fell a bit flat of what I was hoping to be a fantastic read. I won’t say any more because no spoilers but will as always keep my eye out for the next instalment in this series from the author.

The plot is pretty much basic: Chloe Deems is a chubby girl kidnapped by aliens and destined to be auctioned off but the Commercian aliens have a misconception of the "ideal" Earth girl and to them she just doesn't fit that mold. Chloe has been derided for her size and subjected to their "fat farm" mentality. This book has it all!!! I loved Chloe and Tark, they were perfect for each other. Chloe is kidnapped from Earth and kept in this house that is trying to make her become super model skinny. I laughed so hard listening to her talk to the house. Tark ends up coming to the place she is being held because of a prophecy. He believes the jewel that will heal his stutter is there. When he gets there he only finds Chloe. However, he takes her from the fat shaming house. They go to another place where the This book has it all!!! Their journey is incredible. I felt so bad for Tark, he really needed Chloe in his life. I just wanted to hug him. This was another fantastic story in the Kindred series and of course we get to see some of our original ladies at the end. Don't forget to read the sneak peaks for upcoming books. I can't wait to see what Evangeline Anderson cooks up next!!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. *contains Spoilers*. Well another fantastic Kindred book, I found this book really different to the others and really loved the start how Chloe was abducted and taken to the Smart House where she was supposed to lose weight so that she could become the supposed ideal weight ‘ha’! I also loved that when Tark arrived he instanstly saw her as an Elite, something which has appealed to me from previous books and although she wasn’t what he was looking at the house, he took her away to help her anyway *contains Spoilers*. Evangeline has done an amazing job with this one. Chloe has been kidnapped and put into a “fat-shaming house” to make her lose weight so she’ll be the “ideal” earth girl they’re looking for. Having always been a bigger girl, she’s gotten comfortable with her weight, but this house of bullying is causing her to doubt herself. Tark has also suffered throughout his life by being bullied, not only because of him being a beast Kindred on twin moons, but also because of his speech problem. Tark has also suffered throughout his life by being bullied, not only because of him being a beast Kindred on twin moons, but also because of his speech problem. These two are a match made perfectly for one another as she’s a speech therapist by trade and he, like the twin Kindred, loves the “elite” women. Unfortunately, miscommunication on several different factors causes them more harm than good and they fall apart. This story is definitely one you don’t want to miss. One of the better Kindred Tales stories. Tark's affliction has caused him to suffer his whole life and he hopes to find the jewel prophesied to help him. Chloe has been kidnapped by the Commercians and is going to be sold to the highest bidder. Thankfully, the Goddess brings these two together and sets them on a journey. Some smoking hot scenes and a lot of internal struggles and a trip to the Resort of Resonant Oneness are just some of the highlights on this couples path to bonding. I thank the author for the nod to AMI. If you want to find out more about the Commercians, aliens with horns, or aliens with skin that changes colors, check out the Alien Mate Index.

I am always here for Evangeline Anderson’s books. When she thought up this concept I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. The way she weaves worlds and characters together is magical!! I loved this story. Tark, the hero, was plagued by a stutter that had alienated him from not only his family but from any meaningful relationships until he meets Chloe. She understands his stutter and as a SLP, has the skills to help him overcome it. The tension between Chloe and Tark was amazing and their relationship develops almost instantly. There were a few moments that dragged especially near the end but overall, Tark is now my favourite hero and this Kindred story is a hit for me. I receiv I loved this story. I actually liked the storyline and the world the author created this being the first book I read in the series, I felt it was a standalone so I didn't miss out on anything not reading the others yet. Detailed and descriptive and other unique secondary characters. Tark was pretty awesome I really like what the writer did with him. Chloe, on the other hand, wasn't my fav character and would have been a good reason for me not to finish the story. I just thought her character was overly whiny and sil I actually liked the storyline and the world the author created this being the first book I read in the series, I felt it was a standalone so I didn't miss out on anything not reading the others yet. But I did finish the story itself is worth reading and how it all comes together.

I really liked this one, i could totally see myself going through what Chole did in this book, abducted by aliens, stuck in a smart house trying to make you look like the perfect earth girl. Tark who choose to save Chole has no idea what he's been looking for and having chole help him look for to after saving her, was there the entire time. Tarc needs to find the jewel to cure him. Chloe was kidnapped and stuck in a smart house where it was programmed to "help" her loose weight even if she does not want to. When Tarc comes to find the jewel can Chloe help him? This was a funny and sexy book. I am not sure how Evangeline does it. She is a great story teller and all the Kindred books though from the same universe are different and fresh. This is a great read. Thanks again Evangeline :)

Better than her previous books in the series but not as good as the first ones I liked this on and it had less unnecessary drama. The characters were hot and I love the humanizing factor of the guys. Never thought stuttering could be hot by it kinda is. For a while I was looking hope in the series as I thought it was severely loosing quality. But now it’s getting back up there.

This is another great addition to the kindred series.Chloe is kidnapped by Aliens so she can be sold at auction but, they think she is too chubby. Tark is searching for a jewel to help him with his speech problem. Chloe and Tark have never been accepted for who they are but, together they find exactly what they want and need, each other. This is a sweet and sexy tale and I would definitely recommend it. Loved it! As always I couldn’t put it down as with all of Evangeline's books. Great from start to finish. I loved the chemistry between Chloe and Tark. They both were so vulnerable with their insecurities but opened to each other and ultimately found what they've always been searching for in each other. It felt like I was reminiscing with similarities from earlier books in the series. Overall such a great read. Can't wait for the next one!!!

All of the Kindred stories are amazing. And this one just adds so much more to the series. She’s kidnapped by aliens that want to sell her. But they think she should look like a model on a runway and don’t understand that that isn’t realistic. It will take a huge Kindred to save her but she will also have the chance to save him. A hot romantic alien romance.
